After an impressive seven game road trip where they won six and only lost once, the LA Clippers finally cooled off and fell to the New Orleans Pelicans at home 117-106.

Zion Williamson, who played with a bone bruise in his left foot, took charge in the second half with a series of "Tour de Force" drives to the hoop. He finished the game with a double-double, 21 points and 10 assists. CJ McCollum scored 13 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter including a 3-pointer that gave the Pelicans a 16 point lead with 5:15 left in regulation.

“We had plenty of opportunities to win the game. Fatigue a little bit played a part in it. Three games in four nights, coming from Miami, Atlanta, so it is what it is. Now we get some rest and can finish the next few games strong.” Clippers guard James Harden said post game. Harden led the Clippers with 19 points and five assists. He passed Maurice Cheeks (7,392) for 15th place on the NBA’s career assists list during the second quarter.

All Stars Kawhi Leonard had 15 points and Paul George added seven but clearly the weariness in his rhythm showed when he missed his first nine shots. The Clippers played their 8th game in 13 days.

Despite the loss, the Clippers still lead the Pacific Division with a 34-16 win-loss card. They will play the Detroit Pistons on Saturday here in Los Angeles.
