In a game marked by an intense offensive battle from the start, with 19 lead changes and 10 ties, the shorthanded Los Angeles Clippers displayed incredible grit in a thrilling overtime contest against the Boston Celtics, but narrowly lost, 117-113.

The Clippers were missing six rotational players that includes Kawhi Leonard (right knee), Ivica Zubac (left eye corneal abrasion), Nicolas Batum (right finger), Kris Dunn (left knee), James Harden (right groin soreness), and Norman Powell (back soreness).
Derrick Jones Jr. led the Clippers with a career-best 29 points, including 17 in the first quarter. Kevin Porter Jr. contributed a season-high 26 points while Amir Coffey scored 24.

The reigning NBA champions, the Celtics, are also without its key players Jrue Holiday (right shoulder impingement), Kristaps Porzingis (illness, non-COVID), and Al Horford (left big toe sprain). Jayson Tatum scored 24 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists for the team while Jaylen Brown scored 25 points but made some key mistakes during regulation.

The Clippers have dropped two consecutive home games and have slipped to sixth in the Western Conference standings with a 24-19 record. They are set to play the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, January 25, at 7:30 PM PST.
