On the road and down by 20 points with 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Minnesota Timberwolves relied on their league leading defensive rating to lock down and dethrone the Denver Nuggets 98-90.

Six Wolves players scored in double figures with Karl Anthony Towns and Jaden Mc Daniels leading the team with 23 apiece. But it was the Timberwolves suffocating defense that gave them a 41-17 run to cut the deficit and forced the Nuggets to miss 15 of their 21 shots.

After sweeping Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns in the first round and embarrassing the defending champion Denver Nuggets, the Timberwolves are now headed to the Western Conference Finals to face off against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

The Wolves Game 7 victory on the road is the largest comeback win in the past 25 seasons. Game 1 against the Mavs will be on Wednesday, May 22 at 5:30 in the evening at the Target Center in Minnesota. The game will be broadcasted live on TNT.

Meanwhile out east, Tyrese Haliburton and company demolished the short-staffed NY Knicks 130-109 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

All-star guard Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 26 points while power forward Pascal Siakam added 20.

The Knicks, already missing its key players to injuries, relied on All-star guard Jalen Brunson to carry them in these deep playoffs run. They simply could not stop the scorching hot Pacers who made NBA playoff history by shooting 67.1% from the field in the series-clinching victory.

Brunson scored 17 points on 6 of 17 shooting but ended up leaving the game after fracturing his left hand in the second half. The Jalen injury was the final blow to the Knicks.

The Knicks lost PF Julius Randle to a shoulder in January, Bojan Bogdanovic in Game 4 of the first-round series, Mitchell Robinson after Game 1 against the Pacers, and OG Anunoby, who strained his left hamstring in the series, tried to play in Game 7 but was limited to five minutes, as he was unable to keep up with the intensity of a winner take all game.

The Pacers move on to their first Eastern Conference Finals since the 2014 playoffs and will face the number one seeded Boston Celtics. Game 1 will be broadcasted live May 21 on ESPN starting at 5 PM PST.
