Norman Powell deserves to be in the All-Star conversation this season. Returning to the rotation for the second time after a six-game absence due to a left hamstring injury, the UCLA alum displayed no rust, scoring 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting from the field and 5-for-7 from beyond the arc, as the LA Clippers dominated the Portland Trail Blazers 127-105.
While the Clippers achieved an emphatic victory, their journey in the NBA Emirates Cup has come to an end and they will not progress to the quarterfinals. Nonetheless, James Harden put on a remarkable show, contributing 23 points and reaching a historic milestone in the process.
With roughly three minutes remaining in the third quarter, James Harden executed his patented stepback 3-pointer, surpassing John Havlicek with a total of 26,396 career points to snag the 18th position on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
And just when everyone believed the smoke had settled, the beard elevated the game by sinking another 3-pointer right before the third quarter buzzer, surpassing Paul Pierce to become the 17th all-time NBA scoring leader with 26,399 points.
The Clippers controlled the second half, shooting an impressive 55.3% from the field and 51.4% from three-point range, securing their ninth consecutive win at the Intuit Dome. They are set to face a more challenging opponent when Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves visit them on Wednesday, December 4. Tip-off is set at 7:30 PST.
