The Dallas Mavericks erased an 18-point deficit and defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road 109-108 to lead the Western Conference Finals series 2-0.
The Mavericks trailed for more than three quarters but looking at Luka's energy and judgment on the court, there was always that feeling that Doncic would put the visitors on his shoulders and carry them to a come from behind win.
With about 10 seconds left in the game and down by two points, Luka cooked defensive player of the year winner Rudy Gobert and iced the game for the Mavericks with his patented step back 3-pointer.
Doncic finished the game with a triple double-32 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds. This is now Luka's fourth triple double in his last five playoff games. His costar Kyrie Irving added 20 points, six assists and four rebounds on 4-of-7 shooting from 3.
Minnesota's Karl Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards are still MIA in this series. Towns missed 12 of his 16 shots while Edwards went 5 for 17 on the field. It was Edwards costly turnover with 12 seconds left that led to Doncic's ice in his veins game winner.
The series resumes in Dallas for Game 3 on Sunday, May 26. TNT will broadcast the game live starting at 5 PM PST.
