A MISTAKE, STARRING ELIZABETH BANKS
OPENING IN THEATERS ON SEPTEMBER 20 FROM QUIVER DISTRIBUTION
Quiver Distribution announced today that it has acquired North American rights to writer and director Christine Jeffs (Sunshine Cleaning, Sylvia, Rain) suspenseful medical drama A Mistake, from Cornerstone Films, following the film’s successful launch at the Tribeca Film Festival and the now complete sell out of all territories. Quiver will release the film in theaters on September 20, 2024.
A gripping cinematic adaptation of the best-selling novel, A Mistake delves into the perilous aftermath of surgeon Elizabeth Taylor's (Banks) split-second medical decision, unfolding a thrilling exploration of the fatal ripple effects triggered by a single human error.
A Mistake is based on the novel by Carl Shuker and stars three-time Emmy Award nominee Elizabeth Banks, Simon McBurney, Mickey Sumner and Rena Owen. It is a GFC Films production and was produced by Matthew Metcalfe with Jeffs also taking producing duties. Cornerstone’s Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder served as executive producers.
The film was financed by the New Zealand Film Commission and Te Puna Kairangi, the New Zealand Government’s Premium Productions for International Audiences Fund together with Ingenious Media.
The deal was negotiated between Cornerstone and UTA Independent Film Group with Larry Greenberg of Quiver Distribution.
Banks is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and attorney PJ Shapiro at Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Jeffs is represented by UTA.
