Amphawa Floating Market: A Photographic Journey Through Thailand's River Bazaar

Amphawa Floating Market is one of the must-visit places in Thailand if you want a complete Thai experience. Located around 80 kilometers from Bangkok, it is close enough for a day trip. Although I wouldn't say it's not touristy, I still felt, saw, and smelled an authentic vibe.

From the many small wooden boats loaded with a variety of Thai delicacies, some even equipped with propane tanks to ensure your chosen dish is served piping hot, to the wooden houses, most of which have been converted into shops and eateries lining the khlong (waterway), the scene will make you imagine life in Thailand as it might have been before the advent of tourism. A visit there is truly a culinary, visual, and cultural experience.
