Messiah Bright had a fantastic evening scoring a hat trick with her first ever ACFC goal happening in the first minute of the game. The 24-year-old striker recorded the fastest goal scored for ACFC and notched the club's first ever hat trick.
Scottish striker Claire Emslie added two goals for ACFC while defender Megan Reid and forward Alyssa Thompson scored one apiece. FC Juarez Feminil, the only team in the Liga Mx owned by a woman, failed to find the back of the net for a consolation goal including a near miss by defender Julitha Singano.
With their dominance and goal scoring spree setting the tone right from kick off, ACFC coach Becki Tweed was able to field all of her 22 players and had this to say post-game:
“For every player that stepped on the field tonight, it was great for everybody to feel like they were able to play a part in a result and a performance. I always talk about your impact. It’s everything versus playing time. Tonight, to be able to reward everybody with that playing time was really special and important.”
Angel City will play San Diego wave next on August 24, Saturday. The game will be broadcasted live on CBS starting at 1:30 PM.
